Br Abdul Hirji: Elected as Electoral Commissioner of The Council Of European Jamaats
At the recently concluded Annual Conference of The Council of European Jamaats, Br Abdul Hirji was elected as Electoral Commissioner.
Since Br Abdul retired from the Royal Navy as a Senior Aircraft Engineer in 1993, he had committed himself to serve the Community in Peterborough. He served as a President, Vice president and as a Committee member. Currently he is the Health & Safety Advisor at a Jamaat level.
Br Abdul was part of the Peterborough Team during the formalisation of CoEJ in the nineties and had taken an interest in the development of CoEJ.
At present he works for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue service in the Community Safety Task Force Team as a Community Fire Safety Officer. He also serves the wider communities as a Magistrate.
