The Astronomical New Moon is on Tuesday, 3 May 2011 at 0751BST. The crescent will not visible anywhere on this day except Hawaii. On Wednesday, 4 May 2011 it will be easily seen in Europe.
1st Jamada al Thani 1432AH will thus be on Thursday, 5 May 2011 for the Muqallideen of Ayatullah Sistani and Marhum Ayatullah Khui.
