Hilal Advisory Team Statement: Rabi al Awwal 1431AH

The Astronomical New Moon is on Sunday 14 February 2010. The crescent may be visible with difficulty in North and Central America. Should the crescent be sighted as expected, according to the rulings of Ayatullah Sistani (based on the Theory of Differing Horizons), 1st Rabi al Awwal 1431AH will be on Tuesday, 16 February 2010.

As for the muqallideen of Marhum Ayatullah Khui, 1st Rabi al Awwal 1431AH will be on Monday, 15 February 2010 if confirmation of sighting is received from America. The Hilal Advisory Team will update the website accordingly.
