On the 5th of October 2011, The Husaini Senior Citizens Gents and Ladies of Peterborough held a parallel Imam Ali Reza A.S. Day at The Husaini Islamic Centre in Peterborough.

The function was well attended by chapters of Senior Ladies and Gents Citizens from all sister Jamaats. The President of The Council of European Jamaat Alhaj Dr Husein Bhai Jiwa and The World Federation Vice President Alhaj Munawar Bhai Rattansey were amongst the dignitaries who addressed the Senior Citizens.

Among the talented students of Qum and Mashhad, Islamic Thought has arranged writing competitions leading to a response of more than 700 entries, the best of which are published yearly. Over the years, Islamic Thought has also encouraged youth internationally to engage in Islamic writing in the English language. After the successful writing competition held in Muharram of last year, and the subsequent published book, Islamic Thought once again invites youth to use their words to spread the mission of Imam Hussain (a.s.) in another international writing competition.

Put pen to paper and encourage others to participate in this inspiring opportunity.
