Easter is finally almost upon us and it is time for Behlool Society of Leicester to present our very own, long awaited Easter Camp!

We have in wait an exciting and stimulating program of leisure activities such as laser quest, swimming, table tennis, pool and much much more, and interactive seminars for young boys aged14 to 17 years old. Lead by renowned scholars and speakers, seminars will be covering contemporary and rich issues and topics ranging from the lessons we can take from history to Qur'an & tajweed and even include social issues and careers.

Redemptive Suffering - An invitation by Leicester Jamaat

Chest_of_hopeThe Leicester community will be holding a Husayn day style event entitled 'The Redemptive Suffering of Husayn son of Ali and Jesus son of Mary'
This will be held on Saturday 7th January between 2pm and 5.45 pm. We will have media coverage for the event. It will be focussing on bringing together the Muslim and Christian communities that have an interest in the event.
It will be a start in opening our doors to other faith communities for interfaith activities and dialogue, in particular the Roman Catholics with whom we share common ground with.

Ashura asembly

Ashura_day_assembly_POSTERLeicester Jamaat would like to invite you to their Ashura Assembly, which is held to educate the general public about the personality of Husayn (A.S.). The Ashura assembly is where the whole shia community can assemble in the pedestrianised area near the clock tower of city centre and educate a diverse crowd in the middle of a peak Christmas period during bustling shopping hours.

The proposed date and time is Sunday 4th December between 10 am and 12 pm.
Bus transport towards city centre will leave at 9.30 am.

The Behlool Society (Leicester) Kids & Parents Fun Day

Behlool_Fun_dayBehlool Youth Society of MKSI Leicester would like to invite all the CoEJ Jamaat members to join them in celebrating their Family Fun Day on Sunday, 4 September 2011 at 17a Duxbury Road, LE5 3LR, Masjid-al Husayn from 2:00pm - Maghrib.

The highlight of the fun day is a Car Treasure Hunt beginning at 6 pm on the day and which is the first of its kind done here in Leicester.  It will involve participants purchasing tickets worth £20 for a car of a maximum oTreasure_Huntf 5 people.  Participants have to follow clues leading them to different locations around the city before they finally return to the masjid.

MKSI Leicester 21st Annual Juloose Aza – Sunday 23rd Jan 2011

The 21st Annual Juloose Aza was held on Sunday 23rd Jan 2011 / 18 Safar 1432. 

The Juloos is held to honor Shuhada-e-Karbala and remember the survivors who after tragic day of Ashura were taken in procession through the streets of many towns and cities on foot to pass eye witness accounts to onlookers.

In a similar way the Jamaat takes the procession onto to the streets of Leicester to pass the account and events of Karbala to the public.
