ImageMore than 100 young footballers gathered in Watford yesterday to compete in a friendly youth football tournament and remember an old friend.

Twelve squads and many more spectators met at the Westfield Community Sports Centre for the second annual Ali Naqi Memorial Tournament – with teams travelling from all over the county to take part.

THE JGS AUTUMN 2007 TOURNAMENT (13TH SEPTEMBER)

The JGS Autumn Tournament will be held on 9th September at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club. Set in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace, the golf club has the enviable accolade of being the only course set in a Royal Park and dates back to 1895.

At 6513 yards in length and par 71, the course has a parkland front nine and a contrasting links feel to the back nine, particularly with the breeze up. Opening with three relatively straight forward Par 4’s, and finishing with three holes that rank amongst the best in golf, the course is both challenging and beautifully unique. From May through to late autumn the wide fairways are framed by long flowering acid grass. The golfing experience is contrasted by a new and contemporary style club house with a stylish restaurant and beautiful function room. A first class putting green and practice area complete the picture. Read more...
