It is with great sadness that we received the news of the passing of Mohamed Rafique Jafferali Dattu, grandfather to our Mentor Shabbir Merali.

Sweden 2008 - Important Arrival Information - UPDATED 21:00

Camp left stockholm on time - expected at Stanmore at modnight tonight inshallah.

Parents and guardians of campers are advised that the camp is expected to return to Stanmore at about 00:00 (Midnight), Saturday 30 August 2008 (give or take 30 minutes).

Sweden 2008 - Meet the Mentors

The Sweden Camp relies on the guidance, entertainment, nurturing and teaching of youth mentors to make the camp the learning and fun environment it is. Mentors are the guides on the road "Towards Excellence" in all spheres of life. They have been hand picked to provide the best role models for the campers with a variety of skills and talents with the group. These mentors give up their holiday, summer jobs or annual leave to spend time with the campers to nurture their development.

Profiles of each mentor are available online. May Allah (s.w.t.) reward them for their sacrifice.

Sweden 2008 - Day 1

Alhumdillah the Sweden Campers, Administrators, Mentors and Presenters (CAMP) have compleated their first day at the campsite. The Girls have settled in well to the new site and you can read the campers (Mars) and mentors diary for the day. Likewise, the boys seem to be having fun: read the view of the campers (Saturn) and mentors . The pictures of the Girls Camp for Day 1 are also online, with the Boys pictures to follow shortly.

Sweden 2008 - Arrived on site

Alhumdillah the Sweden Camps 2008 (both boys and girls) landed safely and have arrived at the campsite.

By the brief reports available, the journey was uneventful, but we look forward to the campers and mentors perspectives. Inshallah they will be writing a daily diary, accompanied by photographs, which will be posted on this site as soon as possible.

Salaam Alaykum,

This, the first news item for the Sweden 2008 summer camp, I hope will be the beginning of the many more diaries, photos, messages on the Sweden 2008 website.

The camper packs are ready, the printing is done, our admin is already out in Sweden preparing the camp site, the mentors have been trained via two training weekends over the past two months.
